Seven Naxalites, including two women, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar on April 30. IG Bastar P Sundarraj informed ANI that the encounter took place in the jungles of Abujmarh, and the operation is ongoing. P Sundarraj stated, “Today, in the jungles of Abujmarh at the Narayanpur Kanker border area, an encounter occurred between the Naxals and the DRG Narayanpur and STF team. The encounter is still ongoing. According to reports, the bodies of seven Naxalites, including two women, have been found. A significant amount of weapons and ammunition, including an AK-47, were recovered from the site of the encounter. Search operations are currently underway.”
Earlier on April 17, 29 Naxals were killed in an encounter before they could carry out a major incident as part of their Tactical Counter Offensive Campaign (TCOC).
